Zipper Length and Allowable Tolerance

Time:2026-07-27

To measure zipper length, close the zipper fully.

To measure zipper length, close the zipper fully. Measure the distance from the top end of the top stop to the bottom end of the bottom stop or separating component. During zipper production, inertia generated by machine operating speed and requirements for complete chain teeth lead to allowable dimensional tolerances. Longer zippers carry larger allowable tolerances. Allowable tolerance range (International Standard):

Zipper Length

Allowable Tolerance Range

Below 30cm

Within ±5mm

30cm up to less than 60cm

Within ±10mm

60cm up to less than 120cm

Within ±15mm

Over 120cm

Within ±2% of zipper length

Note: Special products, special sizes or finished goods with special requirements may not comply with the tolerance regulations listed above.
